Sukhpati Shamlall

Sukhpati “Babes” Shamlall, of Jersey City,  died unexpectedly in Jersey City Medical Center on July 4th, 2017  at the age of 92.
Sukhpati is survived by her children Indrani (Data) Persaud, Chan Chanderballi, Motie Ramballi, Hemraj (Raj) Ramballi, Sham Ganshamballi, and Goldin Shamlal. Also, by her four daughters-in-law, Sunita (Susan) Ramballi, Cheryl Ramballi, Bibi Ganshamballi, and Dedo Chanderballi. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, Alicia Ramballi, Dylan Ramballi, Zoe Chanderballi, Rita Chanderballi, Zoney Chanderballi, Brian Ganshamballi, Tiffany Ganshamballi, Stephanie Ganshamballi, Shan Ganshamballi, Sophie Ganshamballi, Radica, Nalo, Vijay, Donald, Dovey, Shoma, Barbara, Debbie, and Darren. she is also survived by her numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great Grandchildren. 

Sukhpati was born on May 22nd, 1925 in Essequibo, Guyana to Boodhia and Sham Lall. She married Mr. Ramballi in 1943. After his death, she moved to Cummingslodge, Guyana with her children. 

Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, driven, and most of all, hardworking mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was a generous individual who loved her grandchildren and who was passionate about her cooking.

Wake will be held every night at the Ramballi’s Residence (360 Virginia Ave, Jersey City NJ 07304). A viewing is scheduled on Friday, July 7th, 2017 6pm-10pm and Saturday, July 8th at 6pm-10pm, 2017 at Evergreen Funeral (159 Garrison Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306).
