My father was a an extremely caring noble loving and humble man full of love for life and always willing to do a favor for others . He loved my mother and I very much, and his family , an amazing father , son , husband ,uncle and brother to his sisters and human being Loved by us all , he was and shall always remain in our hearts and minds , he would say his exterior looks 81 but said he felt young at heart and loved life . My father migrated to the US before the Cuban revolution and lived in NYC during the early to mid fifties for a year he recalls the elegance of New York City during the time and the police officers buttoned uniforms and the classic yellow cabs that truly hustled for their ridership way before that onset of uber and other companies . Arriving at Idelwid Airport now JFK on a Pan American Constellation he recalls the incredible luminosity that lit up the sky when the plane descended below the cloud coverage and the feeling of joy one felt . , He loved his mother and father immensely, a loving mother she was to him and hard working woman who was a great seamstress , so well loved in her craft that she would do much work for the Hasidic community where she lived , his father was a police officer in Cuba and worked at the hotel Nacional , his Harley police motorcycle my father recalls was quite a site to behold . As a young boy and man he loved the outdoors and the benefits of being in that environment .cubas weather was always ideal in that warmth with ever pristine beaches in close proximity to
Him that he loved venturing to
Oh so often . He loved and cherished the sport of baseball whether it was watching the sport or playing it .He had great memories of games he participated in with his mates , he was a great player by accounts of his mates and athletic too. A great movie he could never pass and he would attend movies that were shown in Havana at the Cine maravillas . He would sit in on live radio broadcast's in Havana at the cmq, radio progresso and see and hear great Cuban musicians of his time his favorite Olga guillot. He was an employee of the world renown El canto in Havana a store where every Hollywood luminary and famous visitor to the island would stop and visit the location before leaving He attended the well known catholic Marist school champagne in víbora Havana . My father loved animals there was a a dog no matter how fierce it looked that would be docile to him once he started talking to it and petting it , I remember vividly traveling to The North Shore Animal League where we adopted a dog Rocky , He will be immensely missed and will be in our family's hearts forever . Thank you Papi for all the love you showed on this earth !
