Amal Ibrahim, 75, of Franklin Park, NJ, passed away at home on February 18, 2017. A Christian wake will be held at St. Mary & St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church in Hillsborough, NJ      211 US. Hwy 206 Hillsborough, NJ 08844 on February 21, 2017 from 7:30 – 9:00 pm.

Funeral services will also be held at St. Mary & St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church in Hillsborough, NJ.  Services will begin with a Coptic Liturgy(Mass) on February 22 (8-10am) with the main funeral service beginning immediately following the conclusion of the Mass at 10am. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ.  Evergreen Funeral Home are handling the funeral arrangements.

Amal was born in Cairo, Egypt on September 8, 1941. She immigrated to the US in 1970 with her family seeking a better life.  Soon after arriving in the country, she lost her husband due to illness at the age 37.  Left heart broken, unemployed, scared and suddenly having to raise two young children as a single parent, she beat all odds and managed to endure each and every challenge.  She was braver than she believed, stronger than she thought, she was the glue that held her entire family together.  Amal dedicated her life to church and family providing endless loving support for those she loved.

 

Amal is preceded in death by her parents, Habib and Alice; her husband Adel and her brother Mansour.

 

Amal is survived by her brother Deacon Anthony (Emil) of Staten Island; sister Angel of Franklin Park; sister Sophie of Cairo, Egypt; son Samih (Candace) Ibrahim; son Sahir (Vivian) Ibrahim; four grandchildren Justin, Nicholas, Alexander and Christian Ibrahim
