Cathleen Mary Major

Cathleen Mary Major, 65, passed away on March 25, 2026.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Cathleen later lived in Belleville and Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Natalie Major and Andrea Gonzalez.

Cathleen touched the lives of many and was known for her honesty, always speaking her mind with truth and authenticity. She found joy in music and especially loved listening to Whitney Houston and Bob Marley. She loved talking about old memories, especially the day trips she would take to the beach or the mall with her daughter, Andrea. One of her greatest joys was reminiscing about cherished childhood memories shared with family and lifelong friends. 

She is survived by her loving daughters, Natalie Major and Andrea Gonzalez; her sisters, Barbara Palumbo and Deborah Lanza; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Joseph Major, as well as her sisters, Patricia Major and Gloria Leonardis.

Cathleen will be deeply missed, and her strength, love, and lasting impact on those around her will never be forgotten. Her stories and remarkable perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew her.
