Dolores Ettl (nee Vetter), 87, passed away on Monday, June 8th, 2020 at Christ Hospital, Jersey City. Dolores was a lifelong Jersey City resident and a devoted parishioner and Sexton of St. Ann's RC Polish Church in Jersey City. She was known to everyone in her neighborhood for her energy, enthusiasm and helpfulness.
Dolores was born in Bayonne, but lived on Tonnele Avenue in Jersey City for over 60 years. Her first job was at New York Life Insurance Company in Manhattan. She later worked as a teacher at St. Ann's Grammar School instructing the Pre-School and 3rd Grade children. An industrious lady, she also worked as a Restaurant Hostess and on the night-shift at RCA Corporation in Harrison, which is where she met her future husband, Richard.
Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Richard; her daughter Camile "Annie" Thomas; her Sisters, Theresa Kohanik and Bertha Butala. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her nephew, William Kohanik (Ellen); her niece, Sally Gearhart (Landy) and her cousins.
On Thursday, 6/11, at 11:00 am there will be a Viewing at Evergreen Funeral Home and a prayer service with Fr. Kazimierz Kuczynski, Pastor of St. Ann's RC Church for family only. Dolores' wishes were to be cremated and her ashes inurned with her late husband at Holy Cross Cemetery Columbarium, North Arlington.
