Edward Lubarski, 90, of Jersey City, passed away on Thursday, January 11th, 2024. Edward was born in a small town in Poland. He was the youngest of four siblings and was predeceased by his brothers Stanislaw and Jan and his sister, Jadwiga. He studied to be a Tailor in Poland and completed his apprenticeship in Plock. In 1961 Edward immigrated to the United States, settling in Jersey City. He married his wife, Victoria and had two daughters, Theresa Barbara and Margaret.
Edward worked as a Tailor, first at Schlesinger's Department Store in West New York for over 22 years and then at Barneys New York for 12 years. He retired in 1998.
Edward was an avid reader. He liked to keep up with current events, watching Polish television, music concerts and I Love Lucy. He enjoyed taking care of his houseplants, playing bowling on his Wii video game console and annual trips to Wildwood Crest, New Jersey in summer. He was a great family man and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and extended family. He was a longtime parishioner of St Ann's Polish Roman Catholic Church in Jersey City, He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Edward was predeceased by his Loving wife of 55 years, Victoria (nee Chrzaszcz). He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two daughters, Theresa Goratowski and her husband Robert and Margaret Lubas and her husband Dr. Andrew; Grandchildren Victoria, John Edward, Bernadette, and Thaddeus; Sisters-in-law Ann Kowalski, Hanna Chrzaszcz, and Sabina Lubarska; and many nieces and nephews in the USA and Poland
Relatives & friends are invited to attend the Visitation at the funeral home on Monday, 1/15, from 7:00-9:00pm and on Tuesday, 1/16, from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm. The Funeral Service will be at 8:30am on Wednesday, 1/17, at the funeral home before we proceed to St. Ann Polish RC Church in Jersey City for the Mass of Christian burial at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
