MARKENSTEIN, Eileen Elizabeth, of Jersey City, died on Monday at the age of 62. A lifelong Jersey City resident, Eileen was a fixture in the community and loved and respected by everyone that she met. Eileen held many prominent positions throughout her life including that of Senior Vice President and Global Audit Director for Morgan Stanley. She was also President of Firma Fiduciary Risk Management Association, where she taught the legalities of fiduciary responsibility. Eileen was perhaps best known as the volunteer President of The Jersey City and Harsimus in Jersey City where she put on many charitable events for the preservation and restoration of the cemetery and the enrichment of the community. Eileen is pre-deceased by her father James Carr Sr.; her mother Ruth Carr, nee Brown; and her son Aart Philipp Markenstein IV. She leaves behind her loving husband Aart Markenstein; her brothers Thomas Carr and James Carr Jr.; her sisters Ruth Ann Harrison and Maryann Torre as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, August 22nd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church, Hoboken at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Thursday and Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
