Omar O Pershad

Omar 'Omi' Omanand Pershad, 30, of Jersey City, passed away on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023. He was born on February 28th, 1993.

Omar worked as a Mathematics Tutor at Hudson County Community College. Omi was a loving, caring and funny young man. He enjoyed meeting new people, listening to music, dancing and most importantly hanging out with old people. He was an old soul and could outwalk even the fastest walker. Omar graduated from Hudson County Community College, then NJCU and NJIT.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving mother, Padma Persaud; his father, Narendra Pershad; his brother, Warren Pershad; paternal grandparents Devika Pershad and the late Tarna Pershad of Jersey City; maternal grandparents the late Bissoondal and Ramdhani Persaud of Guyana; paternal Uncle Tony, Aunt Pearl and four others; maternal Uncles Cyril, Pappie and Pandit Charran and the late Captain Krish, Walter and Lalter; maternal Aunts Sita, Vedo, Rita and Poorandai; cousins Bobby, Reshma, Aaron and Hamand and many others.

Friends and family are invited to the visiting at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 6:00-10:00pm. Pooja service will be held the following day on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 9:00am to 11:00am. Cremation will take place at Garden State Crematory, North Bergen, at 12:00pm.
