Ricardo Maldo, age 77, of Jersey City, NJ, peacefully joined our Creator on September 12, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Jacqueline Maldo, with whom he shared 17 wonderful years of marriage. Ricardo’s life was a true testament to love, compassion, humility, and unwavering faith in God.
Born on September 1, 1948, in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Philippines, Ricardo pursued his education at the University of the East in Manila. With an unquenchable passion for learning and teaching, he began his career at Pedro Guevara Memorial National High School in his hometown. His commitment to shaping young minds led him overseas where he spent nearly a decade as an educator- impacting lives across borders and building a legacy grounded in excellence and integrity.
Later, Ricardo moved to Jersey City, NJ, where he furthered his education by earning a master’s degree from New Jersey City University. He continued his teaching career with the New Jersey Board of Education, where he dedicated many more years to empowering students and colleagues alike fulfilling his life’s calling until his well-deserved retirement.
Ricardo had a heart full of kindness and a smile that lit up every room. He was down-to-earth, selfless, and deeply thoughtful. He had a passion for reading and an eye for detail in everything he wrote. Quiet yet strong, Ricardo faced life’s challenges with grace and dignity. He never wished to be a burden, always thinking of others before himself. Though he is no longer with us, he now sails gently toward shores we cannot see—his memory forever etched in our hearts.
To honor Ricardo’s life and legacy, he will be laid to rest in his beloved homeland at Paradiso Gardens Memorial Park in the Philippines. Funeral services will be held there. The family will share the exact date and details with relatives and friends in the coming days.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visiting in NJ at the funeral home on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 5-9pm.
